Happy May, Friends! As we enter a new month, let’s take a look back on some of the things I wore the most in April and what’s on my mind as we head into May. Think of this as a mini-editor’s note!
11 Things I Loved in April
Donni Eco-Terry Pants - I wear these at least once a week. Truly perfect.
DL1961 maternity denim (also available in non-maternity) - I like these so much better than the Hatch pair I tried - they actually stay up.
Varley Half-Zip - my go-to layer for morning walks
Donni yellow sweater (same brand/materials just with a v-neck) - I got this last year and I’m thrilled it covers the bump!
Oyster Sling - Dropping 5/6 - the perfect coastal vibe
Mirth Zuma Dress - my favorite Mirth dress
Mirth Janiero Dress (my print isn’t available anymore, but this is the same style) - so thankful I can wear this one with my bump too!
Sold Out Cotton Sweater - the perfect summer sweater
Mirth Kyoto Shirt - I love enough to have it in two colors
AYR Early Mornings Tee - I think its name is sort of perfect. It’s comfortable enough for throwing on for school drop off or a morning walk, but also great as a jeans and a t-shirt look.
J.Crew black dress - I’m so glad I purchased this one. I wore it in Florida, but I’ll be wearing it all summer long. It’s also really cute in the pale pink! It’s definitely sheer, so I opted for black so I can wear biker shorts under it.
On My Radar (other than the dresses below)
A few things I haven’t pulled the trigger on yet/ haven’t received yet, and can’t stop thinking about:
Haven Sleep Dress - thinking it could be a great nursing option and they are currently running a really good sale (40% off!).
Lyuna Pants - these look like a dream. I just can’t decide if I should get my regular size or size up for pregnancy.
Le Monde Beryl Flats - I’m not usually a ballet flat gal, but these are so beautiful!
Margaux Sandals - these are actually en route to me! Can’t wait!
Skims maternity onesie - also en route!
Your April Favorites
It’s always interesting to see what you all gravitate toward - these were the most loved this month:
The Dress Edit: What I’m Eyeing
I’m adding this as a weekly section for the summer. I live in easy, breezy dresses this time of year - and being pregnant, that’s even more true. They’re the simplest way to feel put together with almost no effort.
Lately, it’s become a bit of a hobby to window shop for them, so I’ll share the best ones I find each week.
Bump Friendly
I’ve found that the keys to a bump-friendly (non-maternity) dress are: no zippers, adjustable straps, and just the right amount of drape. These are 6 dresses I’m currently considering!
Kind of obsessed with this one. It actually stopped me in my tracks. I need to sit with it for a week or two to decide if it’s just an emotional purchase or if I really think this could be a dress in my rotation. I love the idea of wearing this on vacation or to a rehearsal dinner or just a dinner out with flat sandals, as shown above.
This looks incredibly comfortable - perfect for a third trimester summer. There are several other dresses from this brand that are also very bump friendly - I appreciate that they actually use some pregnant models too! All linen, which is also really nice.
The quintessential summer dress. Classic stripe, smocked top. It’s not trendy. A bit of a no-brainer.
This dress is my favorite from Mirth’s recent spring drop. They are launching their last spring collection today, so I kind of wanted to wait to see what else they are dropping before making any purchases. :)
The Xirena Boden dress is seriously 100/100. I have it in black and have worn it over and over again for the last 4-5 years. It might be time to get a second one. I love this stripe option, but there are seriously so many good colors!
Another instant classic. Gingham is always a good idea. I’d wear this bandeau bra with this one (rather than cakes or my regular go-to).
If I Weren’t Pregnant
I’ll live vicariously through you!
This is an absolute stunner! If you get this one - send me pics!
The front is as cute as the back. I love everything about this dress - the colors, the stripe - it’s so good.
You know my love for Vincent James. This one could be bump friendly if you’re early on in your pregnancy, but this would be a next summer purchase for me! This Buck Mason dress is very similar. I just love the simplicity of this look.
I love everything Posse. Their brown gingham is the perfect mini dress!
Ok this Doen dress actually might be bump-friendly. It’s hard to tell where the waistline will hit, so I put it in this category. It comes in red as well. A really great MDW or 4th of July dress in either color!
I had to include this dress because Taylor Swift was recently seen in it! Some sizes are sold out, but there are several prints and colors in this style, which is really beautiful and flattering.
If you end up ordering any of these, send them my way - I love seeing how you wear them!
xo,
Abby
