3 outfit recipes for spring
April can be a difficult time to get dressed - especially if you live in a climate like Chicago's. It's spring, we want to put away are puffy coats, boots, and big sweaters, but it's still so often 52 degrees. Here are three recipes for how to make your clothes feel fresh until we reach those warm temps! (See my top 10 things for April in this post!)
1. Wear White
Wearing all white makes me happy all year round. For spring, I love this pair Mother denim (they fit tts) and I'm just wearing a great white t-shirt. Clogs are also a great way to transition to spring - feels like a happy medium between a boot and a sandal! Mine are No6, but these are a great option too!
2. Red Shoes
I'm wearing probably my most worn sweater of the winter here, but somehow it feels different paired with a red shoe, and specifically a shoe that shows a little skin! Here are a few options:
Mary Jane (this is what I’m wearing and I love them)
Ballet Flat (I’ve tried these on - they are incredibly comfortable. If I was a ballet flat gal, I’d own these!)
3. Outerwear
Since we still need outerwear in April and sometimes May, swapping out your puffy coat for something a little lighter feels so good. I love this duster and wear it constantly in the fall and spring. I also just ordered this trench coat. I used to have a trench coat that I loved, but it has been awhile and I'm feeling like I want to add one to my repertoire again. If you're a jean jacket person, that's a great option too!
Last but not least, my favorite spring/summer accessory is the new AA x NBD Basket Tote, of course! It launches 4/18 to our email subscribers and 4/19 to the public! The demand has been so high for this bag that I haven’t taken one for myself yet, but I love how Natalie styled hers on her recent trip to Hawaii!
