5 Dresses for summer
I’ve always been a summer dress person. Probably because I don’t love wearing shorts, but also dresses keep me cool, I have less decisions to make in the morning, and I feel put together. I call that a win! Here are five dresses for all your summertime needs.
Shirt Dress
I absolutely love this shirt dress. I’ve had it for maybe 3-4 years and it’s held up well. I’ve worn it in Mallorca, on safari, as a bathing suit cover up, and to the grocery store. It’s a classic! I have it in black, but I’m honestly considering the navy or mossy too.
Linen Dress/Mini Dress
This is a new dress for me this season. I looked in my closet and saw that I really only had maxi dresses and a shorter dress was an ingredient I wanted to have in my closet. I went with this one because it’s simple and clean and linen is a great material for the summer (obviously).
A Flowy Dress
Nothing better than a flowy dress on a hot day. This dress is also new for me this season. I love Mirth as a brand and this dress is so good. The color and pattern are the perfect amount of spice for my mostly minimal taste, the fit is perfect and the design details are really beautiful. Plus, the straps are adjustable, which is so nice. The photos on their website don’t do it justice - here’s a better representation.
A dress for an occasion
Another Mirth favorite, I got this dress last year for my sister’s bachelorette party in Charleston and am looking forward to wearing it again this summer. You can easily wear this dress during the day, but it’s also a perfect dress for a baby/bridal shower or a date night. It’s very flattering and works with wedges/heels or flip flops. This one is also really beautiful and I love the low back.
A not-so-basic LBD
It’s hard to beat a black dress! I have a couple black dresses that I’ve been wearing the past couple of summers - a maxi shown below and a slip dress (not available anymore), both of which I still like. I tend to gravitate toward styles I can wear with either wedges/heels or flip flops/flat sandals for maximum versatility. Here are a couple other black dress options I love: Linen, strapless, slip dress, eyelet details.
Also considering trying this one. I love a low back moment!
