Happy May Friends! One disclaimer - I’m writing this post ahead of time, so I hope the tenses all make sense! :)
The April Capsule is officially over and like I always feel whenever I’ve done this. I’m relieved. I love the idea of capsule wardrobes and the ethos of intentional purchasing, but gosh I really like having all of my options available to me when I’m getting dressed.
This last week was a little different. It was our last week in Naples, so I’ll be honest, getting photos of what I was wearing just wasn’t at the forefront of my mind. When I looked at my phone, I kid you not, I had 2 photos of what I wore this week plus the photo I’ll take of what I’m wearing today (I’m typing this on the 29th).
Last Friday I wore this and loved it:

And Saturday we went to celebrate our friends’ engagement, and of course all I have is pics of the happy couple. But I wore this dress, these wedges, and my Sand Sling (original size).
Sunday I spent the day on the beach, so didn’t really get dressed. And Monday we went to the US Open of pickleball, which happened to be in Naples. This is what I wore:
And today, Tuesday, here’s what I’m wearing:
We’re flying to Colorado for a really quick trip tomorrow, so I’m sort of ending the capsule a day early, though I plan to wear these jeans and this button down on the plane with this sweater as a layer.
5 Most Worn Items:
The nice thing about documenting my outfits is I can really see what I gravitated toward and what I didn’t.
Mirth button down - this is the shirt I didn’t know I needed. Everyone needs this one. It’s just so good.
Denim Shorts - I am surprised how much I’ve worn these not just this month, but over the past 7 months. They are just the easiest to throw on.
White Denim - both of these white jeans are new recently after a long hunt. I’m really glad I have both pairs. These are the perfect ankle length, classic fit.
White Denim - These are a little more on the wide-ish leg side. But still a very classic fit. Full length, which means they can be worn with heels or with flats for that perfect puddle look (at least for me). They are true white. I went with my smaller size with these.
Mirth Dress - the perfect easy, breezy summer dress.
With the shorts and white denim, I loved the rotation of tanks I had going on. The Almina scoop neck (it’s sold out in my color in most sizes, but available in white and black) and the Sold Out NYC racer back are probably my faves. And I would have worn this top a lot more, but I don’t have my strapless bra with me and my Cakes just don’t stick enough for a loose top. I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer though!
5 Least Worn Items:
I didn’t wear any of these items. Honestly nothing against them, just got too warm!
Black Sweater (I didn’t wear this at all - too warm)
Brown Cardigan (same thing - too warm to wear)
Pistola Denim - I had these on one morning, but ended up changing to shorts because it was just too hot. Nothing against the jeans - they’re great.
Black Slip Dress - I just pulled for other things
My white romper - I’m obsessed with this romper, so it’s nothing personal. :) I might keep it out to wear on our last night here when we’re back from Colorado before we drive back to Chicago!
A Few of My Favorite Outfits
Here were a few of my favorite looks from the month that I’ll look forward to repeating all summer in Chicago! Which is your favorite?
What are your thoughts on capsule wardrobes? Do you find them helpful in honing your personal style/ cutting down on decision fatigue?
