December Thoughts
I’m a little late this month in getting this post out, but I have a good reason. :) My sister got married last weekend! It was the most beautiful wedding and she was the most beautiful bride!
But now that it’s over, it feels like December is going to race by and Christmas will be here before we know it.
I always think I’m going to slow down and really let this season sink in, and every year it’s a challenge!
Here are two simple things I’m doing for the next 18 days:
Listening to Christmas music on my morning walks and enjoying the holiday decorations in the neighborhood - I love the Pentatonix Christmas playlist and the Traditional Christmas Hymns playlists on Spotify.
Reading an advent devotional each morning that takes all of 3 minutes. Better late than never! This is the one I signed up for, but there are lots of good options!
Now that Black Friday/Cyber Monday is over, I’d love to share some small businesses that I love, are doing good in the world, and would make beautiful gifts to yourself of a loved one. I’m going to keep it simple and just share a couple of ideas in various categories. I hope it’s helpful!
Women’s Clothing
Mirth Caftans - so many things to love at Mirth. Their dresses are gorgeous (I have this one (pictured below) and this one and this one is on my wishlist). I also have and love these shorts. But I know it’s winter. Their knits are to.die.for. My personal favorites are this one and this one (pictured in black below). They also have pjs for the season and they are perfect for gifting!
Laude the Label - love this Ribbed Turtleneck. It would be a great gift, or something to wear for the holidays. This black button-up, will be my next purchase.
Na Nin - I love everything I own from Na Nin. I still wear these pants (pictured below) that I’ve had for 3 years now. I just got these in black recently and will be wearing them nonstop (pictured below). Their loungewear is also really good. I have this set, but this one looks really cozy.
Men’s Clothing
Alex Mill - this is a great line of casual, quality, stylish clothing. They also have great options for women too! I wear this top at least once a week (pictured below).
Buck Mason - similar to Alex Mill, but a bit more of a California vibe, in a good way. Also great options for women too! I have this long sleeve and love it.
Everlane - a large selection of well-priced clothing. Also for women! I just ordered this sweater for myself.
Women’s Accessories
Abby Alley - our Sling Bags are truly the best gift - they are a sure win! And jewelry is always a great idea, especially when you don’t know what to get. Who doesn’t love getting a new pair of hoops or a necklace?!
Freda Salvador - I love their shoes - my favorites are the Maddy Boots (pictured below) and Jada Flats. I also love a couple of their belts.
Janessa Leone - the best cashmere beanies (pictured below -this is on my wishlist!)
For the Home
Driftless Style - everything in Kelsie’s shop is handmade by artisans around the world and she has the best eye, so you can trust anything you buy will be fabulous.
Twinette Poterie - I love Emilie’s marbled collection and the stoneware - so beautiful!
Tatine - the best candles ever. Kashmir is my favorite, but they care currently sold out. I also love Bitter Orange and Lavender, Flowers on the Hillside, Morning Sun, and Coast Road.
Skin/Beauty
Echo Vie - I own every single thing Susie sells and it’s all fabulous. I use her face oil and magic detox mist daily and her lip balm is always in my Sling Bg
Taylor Street - My friend Carrie just opened this shop. Everything is made on a farm in Maine. Very clean, very good.
Supergoop - this is my favorite sunscreen and has clean ingredients. I’ve also started using their cc cream for when I want more coverage.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!
