Hi Friends,
I thought it might be fun to give my honest reviews of a few things I’ve recently purchased - both the ones I kept and the ones I returned. I always like hearing about people’s honest feedback so I thought maybe you would too!
In this post I’m also going to share an update of what’s in my cart, the “white tank top theory” and a thought of the week! Click through to the post and give it a heart if you’re feeling kind. :)

What I Returned
I recently discovered the brand Beachwood Baby, and had really high hopes for these products. Their clothes are made in Italy and really reasonably priced, and give that effortless beachy feel. I ordered the Playa Top, the Isla Pants, and the Cashmere Bianca Top. Unfortunately I returned all of them.
The Playa Top was a nonstarter for me - the cut of it just wasn’t flattering. It’s one size fits all, so I’m thinking it might be better on someone with a smaller chest where it just hangs easier? The Isla Pants I really liked. I would have kept them if they fit! But the M/L was a little too tight for me. I normally wear about a size 8 in pants, so I’d say if you’re a 6 or smaller, these pants could be really cute. And the Bianca Top was really lovely in person. I would have kept it except it was a little itchy on my skin, which is odd because it’s 100% cashmere. I don’t normally find cashmere itchy, but maybe this particular kind is different. I also would have preferred the bottom hemline (if that’s what you call it) to not be fitted - where it always rolls under. I’d rather it be straight to give you more options for styling. But that’s personal preference.
Overall, good quality, but based on my personal fit, I probably won’t order from them again.
What I Kept
Haikure Denim - I bought these during Moda Operandi’s MDW sale (they are currently 40% off and only a few left), and I have to say I love them. I haven’t felt so good in a pair of jeans since I bought the Tibi Sid Jeans a few years ago.
Tanya Taylor Trousers - You guys, the hunt is over! I found my perfect trouser-style pants! I ordered both my smaller and larger size to compare and both fit, but ended up keeping the larger size as I wanted to be able to wear them a little lower on my waist (not low-rise, but just not all the way high-rise). I’m picking them up from getting hemmed tonight. Can't wait to wear them!
Superga Sneakers - Living in a city I wear sneakers a lot in the summer. I have loved and will continue to love my Freda sneakers, but these are such a good addition to my closet - I’ve already worn them several times (with jeans, dresses, and white pants…so cute).
Vincent James Apron Top - Ok I didn’t actually keep this one - I gave it to my sister because it was too small for me. I ordered this one during her sample sale, so it’s really my fault. I knew the small would probably be too small, but I like this top so much I went for it anyway. It’ll be so perfect on my sister, Hilary…and she’s going to Portugal next week…so perfect! Now to decide if I should order myself one :)
In My Basket
Sold Out NYC x Natalie Borton sweater - this sweater looks like an absolute dream. I loooove the ticker collar and I love that it’s just slightly cropped. I think the cream one would be so good with the trousers above! The only thing holding me back is sometimes I like a cardigan style sweater in the summer so I don’t have to go on and off over my head. I wear my Babaa sweater so often I might be better off adding another one in a different style (like this one) to my closet.
Varley dress - my IG friend, Emily, posted about this dress and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I like jersey in general and it looks like it might have a really nice drape to it. I don’t tend to go for sleeves on my dresses, but this one may be worth a try!
Mirth Dress - If you remember, I am looking for one more easy breezy dress to add to my closet and as much as I look around, I always come back to Mirth for this. I have the Janeiro (in branch) and Clemente (in grappa minnow) styles, so I know I love the fit. I could go with one of these styles in a different color, or I could try the Zuma, Monaco, Puglia, or Barcelona, which look really cute too. I’d probably do black or white/cream in these. Decisions, decisions.
The Power of a White Tank
I came across this TikTok (below) and I think she’s onto something. There’s nothing better than a really great white tank with an equally great pair of pants/denim or shorts/skirt. I think we all remember this scene…need I say more?
I put together some of my favorite white tanks. I have 5 in my closet that are on heavy rotation, and I added a couple more that look really good too! Not all white tanks are created equally. So the key is knowing what works for you (and really good design).
For me I like having a scoop neck option, a high neck option, something with texture (ribbed, knit, etc). It’s also important to know what works for you as far as your bra. I am happy to wear Cakes, but I know that isn’t an option for everyone.
