It's my bday :)
Tomorrow is my birthday. I’ve been pretty distracted from that fact because my niece was just born (yay!) and Tom and I are currently in Colorado for IVF. So it’s sort of a weird birthday. I usually try to take the perspective of being grateful to get to turn a year older, but this year my age is just an unneeded reminder that my fertility window is closing and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. So even though it’s a birthday I’d rather skip, I’m trying to focus on how grateful I am for this past year. Sooooo much good stuff happened.
+ I moved in with my boyfriend in Naples in October
+ That boyfriend became my fiancé in November
+ My sister and I went to Toronto for the Ears Tour (my first time to Canada!) in November
+ That fiancé became my husband in February!!!
+ My husband and I moved back to Chicago in May
+ My niece was born in July
A really good year. The best year yet, in fact! So with that energy, I’m looking toward this coming year and really hoping that one year from today I get to write this same newsletter with a baby in my arms or on the way. :)

Ok let’s move on to some fashion, shall we?
I mentioned Tom and I are in Colorado for IVF…we are in Denver specifically and we’re here for about a week. Here’s everything I packed…in a carryon too! :)
The key to packing light for me has been to be able to wear multiple tops with multiple bottoms - creating multiple outfits from each piece. I’ll certainly be repeating individual pieces and probably whole outfits…and that’s perfectly ok!
The other thing that was important for this trip was packing for comfort. The medications I’m on make me feel incredibly bloated so elastic waistbands (or no waistbands) are my friends.

Jumpsuit - my travel go-to
Slides (I wore these on the airplane - they feel like slippers)
White flowy pants like these - mine are old
Beige tank (my favorite tank - fits so well)
Black maxi dress - mine is Ozma and is sold out in most sizes
Black flowy pants (I forgot to include them in the image above!)
I also brought running shoes and a couple pairs of leggings and bike shorts, all from the salutation collection at Athleta - they are my fave!
