outfits lately, the best summer sweater, recent purchases & I'm officially an aunt!

Hi Friends! I have to start this week’s post off with the most exciting news…I’m officially an aunt!! My sister, Hannah and my brother-in-law, Kyle, just had their first baby on Tuesday afternoon. Sweet Harper joined our family as the first grandchild and we are all totally and completely in love! Mom and baby are doing great - we are so thankful!

Summer always flies by, so I wanted to take a moment to pause. What’s been your favorite part of summer so far? Other than the arrival of baby Harper, I’d say getting to play golf with my husband has been a highlight. I’ve always enjoyed playing golf with my family, but it’s even better now that I get to play with Tom! It’s just so nice to be outside and enjoy a beautiful scenery…and be off screens!

Recent Outfits

Ok let’s talk summer outfits. Here are some of my favorite looks lately. I’ll do all of the explaining and linking in the captions of the photos and you can find most things linked here. As I was linking everything I noticed that most of the pieces I’m wearing aren’t new for the season…a good reminder that we can wear things year after year when we invest in well-made clothes. :)

I wore this to a fundraiser event. This dress is old, but I found a few that are similar (one, two, three, four) because this general style is a really good one to have on hand as it fits for so many types of events. These shoes are gorgeous and are actually comfortable to wear. I did get blisters the first time I wore them, but it was also 100 degrees and I walked too much. Earrings are Dorsey and bag is our Soirée Bag!

A day in the studio in my favorite denim shorts and tube top. Classic flip flops. Two bags - the Midi Sling Bag for my essentials and the Basket Tote for my work items.

Love an all white look. My skirt is old. I have several linked on my ShopMy, but this one is the closest I can find. Tank is a staple. These are my most comfortable sandals. And the bag is dropping 7/15!

This top is always a go-to for me. And these Boheme linen pants are super easy. I don’t see them on their website, but these from Donni look really close.

I wish I had a better picture of this outfit because it was a very camo-toned look. Love this Mirth top (I wear it with a bandeau bra like this). The Ozma shorts don’t exist anymore but these olive shorts look like the updated version. Sisal Tote launches 7/15!

I really loved this outfit. My Vincent James pants kept me cool and comfortable. I wore a very old (circa 2008) J. Crew silk cami…this one is similar and on sale. With flip flops, Soirée Bag, and Basket Tote.

Another work day look. White denim, white sneakers, and cream tank (old Mara Hoffman, this one is similar). Black Sling Bag and the Sisal Tote launches 7/15!

I put this outfit on one morning when the weather said it was 73 degrees…I got outside and it felt more like 93 degrees so I changed immediately when I got home. But this blouse is a cutie!

I wear this Ozma dress when I don’t have the bandwidth to think through an outfit but want to look cute. I paired it with my Jamie Haller slides and black Sling Bag.

Back in my tube top with black linen pants. Same comfortable sandals and a coming soon to AA bag!

Sold Out NYC Sweater Review

I recently purchased this sweater in cream, and I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve purchased all year. The other two colors are really good too - I wouldn’t put it past me to get another one. Here’s what I love about it:

• It’s so soft - like truly so soft and 100% cotton

• I love the thicker collar - so elevated

• The fit is spot on. It’s not quite cropped, but it hits at the right spot for pants. I ordered a medium, which fits great. I probably could have gotten a small if I wanted a little more of a fitted and cropped look, but I’m happy with how the medium fits.

To keep it real - the coloring of this photo is so off. It was right at dusk so my phone would not capture the lighting right. But the sweater is a perfect cream and it looks better over pants rather than this romper!

Recent Purchases

I have been thinking about this Varley dress since I posted about it a few weeks ago. I purchased it earlier this week, but was notified today that they oversold and had to cancel the order. Not meant to be I guess!

I just ordered this tank top in sage…I just thought the color looked really good. Something different than my usual white or black but still really neutral. Good with denim, white, brown, black, navy, etc.

I also ordered these navy pants. I don’t have any navy pants, so I think these will fill a hole for me and I love the drawstring look right now. I’m looking forward to seeing the weight of material in person. I’ll keep you posted!

Ever since I saw these flip flops, I have been thinking about red. I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, but I’m looking at these and how cute are these!!!
