Hi Friends,
In case you missed last week’s post, I’m pregnant! You can read about that here. 🤍
If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been posting as many any outfit photos lately, that is why. The first 16 weeks were… honestly, pretty rough. Morning sickness was basically all-day sickness, and I’ve spent most of the first half of pregnancy living in elastic waistbands and stretchy pants. 😅 Needless to say, getting dressed and taking photos was the last thing on my mind.
But now, halfway through, I’m finally feeling like myself again. So I’m mentally craving getting back to getting dressed. The problem is - I don’t have much that fits.
I’m in that in-between stage where I don’t quite look pregnant in sweats, but most of my clothes don’t fit either. Early on, I told myself I’d hold off on buying anything new (this is the only thing I’ve bought and I LOVE it and will for years to come) until I had a better sense of what my body was going to do… but here we are, and it’s still a bit of a question mark.
Do I buy maternity?
Do I size up in the brands I already love?
Do I just commit to a few pieces and rotate them endlessly?
What I do know is this:
I don’t want to over-invest, and I don’t want to buy a bunch of things I’ll only wear for a few months.
And I know the vibe I’m looking for - cottons, drawstrings, easy dresses, whites, creams, khakis, light blues.
So while I ease back into “real outfits” and (hopefully) warmer weather, I wanted to share the pieces I’m looking at. The first two boards are non-maternity and the last one is all maternity. All are linked here too.

Since making these collages, I saw J.Crew is having a spring sale event (40% off!) through 4/6. After looking through all the offerings here are my top picks:
Relaxed V-Neck Tee ($19.50)
Rib Scoop Neck Tank ($19.50)
Cotton Lace Trim Sun Dress ($88.50)
Linen Button Up ($69.50)
Cosmo Pant ($88.50)
Remember in the 90s and early 2000s when J.Crew had the best swimwear? Their selection is actually reminding me of that - I like a lot of what I’m seeing and at 40% off!
And finally, last week’s post (linked below) also included a round up of spring/ pastel cashmere/cotton knits, in case you missed it. :)
xo,
Abby

congratulations! this is amazing news! I did IVF too.
I am 21 weeks pregnant, with my second, I'm 37 like the reader below. Being pregnant for most of the summer is beginning to sound v. hot! eek.
My bump popped sooner this time. TBH, I still kind of hate most of the clothes that I bought while I was pregnant last time, whether maternity or not. It's a funny season to get dressed! I like your inspiration. FYI on Legoe = returns are really pricey to go back to Australia. Looking forward to seeing what you're wearing!
Congrats! Was wondering how your journey was going, so glad to hear you're pregnant! I am 22 weeks pregnant with my first at 37 right now :) I finally bought some maternity jeans (denim & black) some drawstring jeans, a few maternity tanks to wear under button downs & long, oversized tees now that I've officially popped! I was planning to wear oversized mostly, but even then can be slightly short once your belly is out & about! Can't wait to see more recommendations & what you decide on so I can be inspired!
