Outfits
Ok I only have 4 pictures for you because I honestly only got dressed 5 times this week (one of the days I forgot to take a pic, but I wore these denim shorts and this white tank). The other two days I was in my workout clothes/lounge clothes. Some weeks that’s the way it goes!1

What to wear to a spring shower
My sister’s baby shower is in a few weeks and I started thinking what I have to wear. Mid-May in Chicago can be in the 70s or 40s, which makes planning an outfit a little tricky. I’m not usually like this, but I want to wear something with pink in it (she’s having a girl) and I honestly can’t think of one thing in my Chicago (or Naples) closet that’s pink! So I started looking around and had fun pulling together a few things that I think are cute. I’m still not sure what I’m going to wear…I know I said I want to wear pink, but I’m really liking the look of the green one!

For whatever reason, dresses are always the easiest to style for an event like this. I don’t have to think about a top and bottom - the outfit is taken care of and all that’s left is the shoes and accessories. And since it’s spring, I am currently drawn to pastels, floral and floral prints, which aren’t normally in my daily repertoire. What I love about the dresses I chose is you can wear them to showers, Mother’s Day/ Father’s Day, graduation events - pretty much any event this time of year.
If it’s chilly where you are, add a blazer or drape a sweater over your shoulders (or bring a pashmina).
For footwear, I pulled a mix of flats and heels, open-toed and closed because it totally depends on weather and vibe. I like a lot of these shoes with each of the dresses. And I might be biased, but our Soirée Bag is perfect for a shower or any event. Sometimes it’s the accessories that really pull it all together. :)
Quick side note - when purchasing anything new, I always try to think of other places I can wear a piece so it doesn’t just sit in my closet after an event. It’s helpful when the items in your closet are versatile. If you’re traveling this summer, it could be a good time to hit two birds with one stone, or dress. :)
It’s our last official week in Naples
For my entire adult life I always wondered if I’d like living here full time and now I know for sure that I do. The last 7 months have been nothing short of wonderful. I’ve always said the beach outside my parents’ place in Naples is my favorite place on earth (the Serengeti being a very close second), and that is more true now than ever. In addition to a lifetime of memories, now add to the list getting engaged and married. If you can’t tell, I’m sad this chapter is coming to an end. I feel a bit like I’m inside a Taylor Swift song. :)
